SARASWATI MUSIC COLLEGE COMPLETED ITS 84th YEARS Dec. 21, 07 New Delhi As part of an on-going initiative to promote cultural exchange between India and Uzbekistan, Saraswati Music College hosted an event of music and Dance at its premise. SWARSWATI MUSIC COLLEGE COMPLETED ITS 84th YEARS and the event was inaugurated by Ustad Amjad Ali Khan. Saraswati Music College, which was established in 1924, is now setting up one of its branches in Uzbekistan, which according to Mr. B. R. Saini, shell facilitate promotion of Indian Arts and Culture. This initiative has been supported by the ICCR and is deemed to go a long way towards Indo-Uzbek relations. Welcome dance was presented by Mrs. Ruchi Saini and College students, and after that Uzbekistani performer perform some cultural dance. Saraswati Music College, for over 80 years, has worked relentlessly towards promotion of Indian Music and art forms around the world |

Girl Students to get a Boost- Prabhu lal Saini Dec 17 Jaipur Girl students who want to pursue a career in the area of Agriculture in the state will now get monetary assistance from the Government of Rajasthan. Girl students will be able to avail a certain amount of money while pursuing senior-secondary, under-graduate, post-graduate and PhD degrees in the subject. "Girls and women are playing a very important role in growth of agriculture in the rural parts of the state. The objective behind the scheme is to encourage more girls to come into agriculture sector and to acquaint them with the latest technologies," said Agricultural Minister Prabhulal Saini. |

Ajit Saini leaves for heavenly abode. Dec. 10, 07 The well-known journalist, punjabi writer and veteran freedom fighter of the INA era died on monday after a brief illness. Ajit Saini was associated with popular news daily Daily Ajit. He served in the Indian National Army founded by the hero Subash Chander Bose and made significant contribution towards the Indian Freedom Struggle. The Chief Minister of Punjab in condolense says, "A void has been created in the literary circles which is difficult to be filled" |

Mr. Sunny Dhoorh was invited as a chief guest for Dallas Diwali 2007 function by Hasda Punjab organization.
On this occassion, the Indian community got together and celebrated very famous Indian festival- Diwali, festival of lights. Mr. Dhoorh wished everybody Happy Diwali. Mr. Dhoorh also appreciated Hasda Punjab organization for their efforts to make everyone keep in touch with their rich Indian culture. Mr. Dhoorh also said further that everyone should participate in these kind of events and should appreciate organization's efforts for the community work. Mr. Dhoorh requested everone in the community to support Hasda Punjab's efforts and work.
Mr. Dhoorh was accompanied by his wife Neeraj Saini and his very close friend- Mr. Avtinder Chawla along with his wife Pinki Chawla.

Asha Saini to 'Mayuri' Sep 2007 The film industry is known for sentiments and at the same time many give preference to numerology to change their names for luck. Following suggestions from her well-wishers and friends, Asha Saini turned 'Mayuri' for more luck. It may be mentioned here that Siva Shankara Vara Prasad had changed his name to Chiranjeevi and Bhaktavatsalam Naidu turned Mohanbabu and rose to the level of stars and reached higher positions in the film industry. Asha Saini had also changed her name to become a big star on those lines. She says, 'Though I played several roles in various language films including Telugu, Tamil, Kannada and Hindi films, I like the Telugu film industry the most.' |

The Northern India Saini Cultural Society (Regd) Elections Sep 23 2007 The election for the governing body of the society has been indefinitely postponed due to a stay granted by the session court after one of the life members, Mr. Minder Singh of U.K. complained that he was not intimated on time about the date. Next hearing of the case is on Oct. 1, 2007. There were three contestants for the post of President, Mr. Charanjit Singh Channi (Ex-MP), Mr. Harbagh Singh Desumajra and Mr. Tejinder Singh. |
